About this project

Sustainability and ESG compliance are increasingly critical for organizations. CarbonLens is a web-based integrated platform designed to help public listed companies and SMEs manage ESG in a structured and efficient way. The Environmental (E) module tracks Scope 1, Scope 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions using OCR, automated calculations, commuting and travel monitoring, and a centralized dashboard that links data directly to bills, receipts, and records. Malaysian emission factors are applied where available, supported by international references (IPCC, DEFRA), with reporting aligned to Bursa Malaysia’s ESG frameworks (CSI, GRI). The Social (S) module enhances employee engagement and well-being through GPS check-ins, daily mood tracking, DASS evaluations, complaints, safety incident reporting, feedback, training uploads, and a rule-based chatbot. AI integration (DeepSeek AI, Flask) enables sentiment analysis, complaint severity detection, and prioritized task recommendations. Usability testing with the System Usability Scale (SUS) showed improved efficiency, reduced HR workload, and transparent ESG tracking. CarbonLens demonstrates how AI-powered platforms can make sustainability management more practical, cost-effective, and user-friendly for Malaysian organizations.

Carbonlens is competing at the International Entrepreneurship Convention 2026, 7 and 8 October, Putrajaya.
