Beetglow

BeetGlow is a sustainable, beetroot-based product innovation that transforms different parts of beetroot into value-added products through a whole-beet utilization approach. The project addresses the underutilization of beetroot peel and pulp, which may otherwise be discarded during processing, by exploring ways to convert them into useful and potentially marketable products.

Our first developed product is the BeetGlow Hydrating Cream Moisturizer, formulated with beetroot alongside ingredients such as basil seed, aloe vera and rice water. Building on this foundation, BeetGlow is developing a wider product ecosystem, including a multifunctional beetroot stick that can be used as both a lip balm and blusher, as well as beetroot sour strips. Beetroot peel and pulp are also being explored for the development of beetroot fibre cookies and body scrub.

Through this waste-to-value approach, BeetGlow aims to reduce potential food waste while maximizing the value obtained from a single raw material. Designed for modern consumers who value innovation, convenience and sustainability, BeetGlow has the potential to grow into a commercially viable product range. Ultimately, BeetGlow demonstrates how one beetroot can create multiple possibilities turning potential waste into wellness, innovation and economic value.
