At two ice cream chains where I worked as a part timer, we were required to log freezer temperatures every five hours. Nobody did it on time. At closing we filled the whole book in from memory, and every colleague at both outlets did the same. A supervisor put it plainly, nobody really looks, until a cake melts overnight and the team goes back through the WhatsApp group to work out what happened. Tera turns that closing routine into a record that can be trusted. Staff are prompted through their outlet's checks on their phone, photograph what the checklist requires, and each capture is stamped with server time and verified against the outlet's registered location. The Halal Executive at head office sees every outlet's status on one screen and can export an audit-ready record for any date range.

The checklist is structured around the Halal Assurance System under MHMS 2020, so every check carries its control point, risk, frequency and responsible role. JAKIM confirmed in writing that outlet records can be examined during inspection where they form part of a company's own established procedures, and that the purpose is to verify controls are carried out consistently at outlet level rather than documented only at head office. That gap is what Tera closes.
