KEBUNKITE: AI-POWERED COMMUNITY FOOD SECURITY PLATFORM
Growing Communities, Securing Food.
The team
About this project
Global food security is increasingly challenged by climate change, rising food costs, supply-chain disruptions, and growing urban populations, strengthening the need for communities to become more resilient through local food production. Community gardening offers a practical solution; however, limited farming knowledge, uncoordinated production planning, and underutilised harvests can restrict its contribution to food security. KebunKite is an AI-powered community food security platform that transforms community gardening into an intelligent and coordinated local food system. Its core innovation, the AI Community Food Planner, analyses community size, garden capacity, and local conditions to determine what to grow, how much to grow, and when to plant and harvest according to community food needs. The platform further integrates AI Plant Health Analysis, an AI Farming Advisor, and Community Harvest Exchange for sharing, bartering, selling, or donating surplus produce. KebunKite aims to increase local food production, reduce harvest waste, improve access to fresh produce, support household savings, and strengthen community participation. Commercially, it adopts a scalable SaaS and institutional licensing model, supported by marketplace commissions and premium AI services. Its cloud-based architecture allows expansion across residential communities, educational institutions, smart townships, municipalities, and international markets through localisation to different crops, climates, languages, and community food needs.
