About this project

When it comes to detecting dangerous gas leaks, facilities are usually stuck choosing between two extremes: a cheap, standalone alarm that only helps if someone is standing close enough to hear it, or an expensive, proprietary monitoring system that locks a facility into one vendor's hardware, cloud, and subscription fees for years. Neither is a real fit for many oil and gas sites that need reliable coverage but can't justify an enterprise price tag.

Sentinel is a connected gas-monitoring system built to close that gap. Sensors placed around a facility constantly track gas levels and feed every reading into one live dashboard that any safety team member can check from anywhere — over the facility's own WiFi, with no vendor cloud, no proprietary lock-in, and no recurring per-sensor subscription fee to keep the system running. Every reading is kept on record for review and compliance, and every device's settings can be managed from one screen instead of by hand.

Sentinel is built for oil and gas operators who take worker safety seriously but don't have an enterprise-sized budget for it. By replacing costly, proprietary monitoring systems with an affordable, self-owned alternative, Sentinel makes centralized, real-time gas safety accessible to any facility, not just the ones that can afford an enterprise contract and its ongoing fees, proving that protecting people from an invisible hazard shouldn't depend on how big your budget is.

Sentinel is competing at the International Entrepreneurship Convention 2026, 7 and 8 October, Putrajaya.
