Azmi Basharudin

Azmi Basharudin is a strategic technical leader specialising in System Integration and Defensive Cybersecurity, with extensive experience architecting full stack web and mobile applications from concept through deployment. He currently serves as Chairman of AZP Group Sdn Bhd, where he oversees corporate governance, long term technical vision, and capital investment in research and development for large scale system integration initiatives. He previously served as Chief Executive of Azmi Productions from December 2021 to November 2025, directing the end to end execution of corporate strategy, high value system integration projects, and the company’s software product roadmap.

His technical career includes roles as a Cybersecurity Researcher and Full Stack Developer at EliteGhost Malaysia, where he conducted vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on proprietary software products, and as a Research Assistant and Full Stack Web Developer at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, where he developed integration scripts and cloud infrastructure bridging legacy systems with modern APIs, achieving 99.9 percent deployment uptime.

He has led several notable projects, including LOURA, a system integration and monitoring platform for a Petronas sea solar installation; Aquavolt Phase 1, a hydrogen refuelling system with an integrated payment gateway; Trosense, a gas detector system for a Petronas power plant developed in collaboration with IIUM Kuantan; and HYDRA, a report submission and staff monitoring platform developed under a collaborative research grant with CUTe IIUM. Across these engagements, he has worked extensively with technologies such as Vite.js, PostgreSQL, PHP, Python, React Native, and Docker based CI/CD pipelines.

His cybersecurity research spans vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and CVE research, including a notable case in which a security report he submitted led Google to patch a vulnerability within one week of disclosure.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering with Honours, specialising in Robotics and Automation, at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He holds certifications including the Fortinet Certified Associate in Cybersecurity, the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2023 Foundations Associate, and recognition as a Microsoft Student Ambassador.
